Wendy attends the casting call and is selected to walk the runway for the Model Icon Chicago Fashion Show. The show will be held in December at the historic Palmer House Hilton and Towers in downtown Chicago.
International travel anyone? Wendy jets off to South Korea for a photoshoot, appearances and traveling. Wendy starts off her trip modeling clothing from “The Moxie Shop” and “Onyx Night” in a Seoul based photoshoot. Wendy had a fabulous time with photographer Greg Samborski and hair and make-up artist Valentina Chang. Photos were taken at the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace, a park in Anguk-dong, and among the historic Hanok buildings in Insa-dong. The theme for the commercial photography was east meets west.
While in South Korea Wendy also did some appearances as the Miss Plus World Ambassador and traveled the beautiful country. This was Wendy’s second time back and has said that Korea is her favorite place to visit for the history and culture. Wendy also mentioned that while you do not need to know Korean to easily get around in the country, she is happy that she is studying Korean as she is now able to engage more with people that she meets. “When I came here for the first-time last year, I started learning Korean and I really enjoy it. I knew it was something that I was going to strive to be fluent in as I have always wanted to learn one of the Asian languages. Last year, I was not very proficient in Korean last time, so it limited my speaking with people that I was meeting when doing appearances. Being that I am a person that likes to communicate with others and learn their story, that was difficult for me. So, I made it a point to continue to study the language.”
